Goalkeeping Training & Schedule

Continental FC recognizes the importance of the goalkeeper and is unique as an elite club having a full-time Director dedicated to this position. CFC is proud to have legendary goalkeeper coach Lincoln Phillips on staff managing all aspects of GK training as Director of Goalkeeping Development.

Phillips is a pioneer of the game who has achieved success on the professional, collegiate, and international levels as a player, coach, and administrator. In 1992, Phillips was appointed to work with the U.S. National Men’s Team as its goalkeeping coach and was a key figure in preparing the international careers of Tony Meola, Brad Friedel, and Kasey Keller. Phillips would go on serve as goalkeeper coaches for other men’s and women’s U.S. National Teams and has coached college teams to two NCAA Division 1 Championships. An accomplished author, Phillips’ book on goalkeeping ‘The Last Line of Defense, The First Line of Attack’ is heralded as one of the best books ever written on the position. All CFC GKs are eligible to attend training sessions on the night and at the location of their choosing per the schedule below.

GKs intending to participate should email the Club Administrator to be sure they are included in the GK TeamSnap account as this is a primary source for communication.

Questions on GK training and development can be forwarded to Director Lincoln Phillips.
